The Buckhorn Inn

A New Chapter Is Coming

The Buckhorn Inn is currently closed as we begin preparing the property for its next chapter.

Our vision is to bring this historic place back to life as a welcoming mountain inn, event venue, and gathering space rooted in family, hospitality, and the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley & George Washington Natl' Forest.

We are currently working through the first phase of reopening, with hopes to begin offering overnight room bookings in late summer or early fall. During this early phase, the property will continue to evolve as we make light renovations, restore key spaces, and shape the long-term vision for The Buckhorn’s future.

We are excited for what is ahead and grateful for the interest, memories, and support surrounding this special place.

Our Vision

The Buckhorn Inn is being thoughtfully restored as a destination for travelers, celebrations, retreats, and memorable experiences.

Located at the gateway to Virginia's Highland Mountains and the beginning of the Shenandoah Valley, the property sits just minutes from the George Washington National Forest, offering guests access to some of Virginia's most scenic landscapes, outdoor recreation, and mountain adventures.

As we move through each phase of reopening, opportunities at The Buckhorn will continue to grow. Our long-term vision includes overnight accommodations, weddings, special events, corporate retreats, family reunions, dining experiences, and community gatherings.

About Us

Orlesa Farms is a family-owned hospitality and agritourism company built around a simple idea: create places that our own family would love to visit.

We are drawn to unique properties with history, character, natural beauty, and the ability to bring people together. From mountain cabins and lakeside retreats to historic gathering spaces like The Buckhorn Inn, our goal is to preserve special places while creating memorable experiences for others.

As parents of a large family, we understand the importance of slowing down, reconnecting, and making memories. Every property we steward reflects those values.

Blog #1: Gateway to the Highlands

One of the things that makes The Buckhorn Inn so unique is its location.

Nestled at the edge of the George Washington National Forest, The Buckhorn has long served as a stopping point for travelers, adventurers, and those seeking the beauty of Virginia's mountains. We often describe the property as the gateway to the Highland Mountains and the beginning of the Shenandoah Valley.

Within minutes of the inn, visitors can find scenic drives, hiking trails, mountain overlooks, trout streams, wildlife viewing, and some of the most peaceful landscapes Virginia has to offer. Whether you're exploring the back roads of Highland County, venturing into the national forest, or simply enjoying the views from the porch, the mountains are never far away.

As we work toward reopening The Buckhorn Inn, we look forward to helping guests discover everything that makes this region special. The history, scenery, and outdoor opportunities surrounding the property are a big part of the vision for its future.

We can't wait to welcome visitors back to this remarkable corner of Virginia.
